Icelandic
This series of paintings explores the fundamental elements of nature, elements that are interdependent. The relationship between time, light, water, ice, fire, ether, and the effects they have on the landscape.
Following a trek in the wild and remote mountains of central Iceland, I created a series of paintings inspired by this experience. The Icelandic landscape has continued to have a profound influence on my work.
The paintings give a sense of the way that the climate, weather and volcanic movement have shaped the geology of the land over time, giving a vision of the eternal existence of the landscape.
